The Couple’s CurrencyTerms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of The Couple's Currency (the "Service"), operated by E and E Ventures LLC ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract. The Service is for adults and contains mature themes about intimacy and relationships. It is offered in the United States.
2. The Service
The Couple's Currency is a private, end-to-end encrypted app for two paired partners: daily check-ins, a daily question, messages and flirts, a journal, offers exchanged between you, a shared calendar, a directory of terms, a library of articles, and guided talks and lessons. Features change over time; we may add, alter or retire them. Parts of the Service are labelled beta and may change more often.
3. Accounts and pairing
- You are responsible for your sign-in and for what happens under your account.
- Most features need a partner. Content in a paired space is visible to your partner by design; that is the point of it.
- One pairing at a time. Deleting your account ends the pairing.
- Give us accurate information and keep it current.
4. Plans, trials and billing
- Free and paid. The daily loop is free. A paid plan opens the rest. One plan covers both partners in a pairing; the partner who buys it is the account holder for billing.
- Where you buy. Plans are bought on our website. Prices are shown in US dollars and exclude tax; sales tax is calculated and shown at checkout where it applies. The card is charged by Stripe on our behalf.
- Trial. A plan may start with a free trial of the length shown at checkout, currently fourteen days, once per pairing. Your card is collected when the trial starts and is charged automatically when it ends unless you cancel first. You get an email reminder seven days before the trial ends.
- Renewal. Plans renew automatically at the end of each period (monthly or yearly) at the price then in effect, until cancelled. You get an email reminder before each renewal, at least seven days ahead, and at least fifteen days ahead of a yearly renewal.
- Cancelling. Cancel any time from the app or the billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid for; you keep the plan until then. We do not give partial refunds for unused time, except where the law requires it or we say so in writing.
- Price changes. If we change a plan's price we give you at least thirty days' notice by email before it applies to your next renewal, and you may cancel before then.
- Codes. A code can unlock a different price or a free plan. A code is for the pairing that redeems it, may be limited in number, and may be withdrawn if it was obtained or used in breach of these Terms. The beta price, where offered, stays at that price for as long as the plan is kept without interruption; it is limited to the number of pairings stated when it is offered.
- Mistakes. If a charge is wrong, tell us at support@thecouplescurrency.com and we will put it right.
5. Your content
You own what you create ("Your Content"). Because it is end-to-end encrypted we cannot see it. You grant us only the technical licence needed to store, transmit and back up the encrypted data so the Service works. You are responsible for Your Content and confirm that you have the right to share it with your partner.
6. Acceptable use
Do not use the Service to:
- Break the law or the rights of others, including sharing sexual content of anyone who is not a consenting adult. Child sexual abuse material is prohibited absolutely and is reported to the authorities wherever it is technically possible to detect it.
- Harass, threaten, coerce or harm anyone, including your partner.
- Share content you obtained without consent or have no right to share.
- Break into, disrupt, reverse engineer or overload the Service or anyone else's account.
- Resell or commercially exploit the Service without our written permission.
7. Safety and enforcement
Because content is encrypted, we cannot read it and do not review it. You can end a pairing by deleting your account and you can report a person to us at safety@thecouplescurrency.com. We may suspend or close accounts we reasonably believe breach these Terms.
8. Not professional advice
The Service, including its guides, sessions, lessons, articles and the directory, is educational and for relationship enrichment. It is not therapy, counselling, medical, mental-health or legal advice, and the guides are software, not professionals. Where research is cited it is cited by name so you can read it yourself. If you are in danger or in crisis, contact a professional or emergency services; the app will say the same.
9. Encryption and data loss
Your content is protected by a key only your two devices hold. If both devices lose the key and you have not used the app's backup or paired-device restore, that content cannot be recovered by anyone, including us. You accept this as a condition of a service built this way.
10. Third-party services and app stores
The Service uses providers listed in the Privacy Policy (Google Firebase and Gemini, Stripe, email delivery). Their terms apply to their services. If you installed the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play: these Terms are between you and us, not the store; the store has no obligation to support or maintain the app; the store is not responsible for any claim relating to the app; and the store is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you. Purchases are made on our website, not through the store.
11. Intellectual property
The Service, its software, design, articles, lessons, recordings and the names of its guides are ours or our licensors'. You may use them within the Service for your own personal, non-commercial use. Cited research belongs to its authors.

You will defend and hold harmless E and E Ventures LLC from claims arising out of Your Content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms or of anyone's rights.
15. Ending
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms, with notice where practical. Sections that should survive (content ownership, billing obligations already incurred, disclaimers, liability limits, disputes) survive.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We post the new version with a new date and, for material changes, tell you in the app or by email at least fourteen days before they take effect. Continued use after that is acceptance.
17. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas and the federal law of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Before filing a claim, you agree to email us at legal@thecouplescurrency.com and give us thirty days to resolve it. Claims that are not resolved will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Harris County, Texas, and you consent to their jurisdiction, except that either of us may bring a qualifying claim in small-claims court.
